hi i'm using premiere 6 on an xp laptop to capture via an advc100 via firewire. The hard drive has been changed to an ssd and the ram has been increased.
Most of the time there's no issue but from time to time, i experience the following:
i) It does not save the file directly to the chosen external portable ssd hard drive upon pressing escape button once, but freezes and saves the video file as temp file to the adobe folder.
ii) sometimes i don't get that far at all. when i open up premiere 6 having first recognised that advc 100 is connected, everything is ok until i try change the capture directory, whereupon it freezes.
iii) Lastly, with adobe shut down i switch off premiere 6, switch on advc100 but the windows box saying that an external capture device is connected does not come up. However if, with advc 100 switched on and i physically disconnect the firewire and reconnect to its port, the the windows box saying that an external capture device is connected comes up and i have the green light to open premiere 6 and start the capture.
i'd appreciate any thoughts if anyone has experienced these kinds of issues since when it works, its just great for workflow.!
thanks in advance
The weird thing is
any thoughts please?
