  1. My use of SE was interrupted today when seeing the video player MVP in the program was jerking and dropping a lot of frames. I tried a reinstall but no improvement. While I am on a new motherboard the rest of my playback or streams etc are normal. Would using the player alterantive install
    improve this?

Also, might changing the resolution reduce some graininess in the image? These are two separate issues.

I'll put in a MediaInfo for anyone to see:

No obvious problems in your file.
    PC problem?
Run dxdiag from the command line and look for errors in each of the tabs, especially the "system" and "display" tabs

  3. I'll see what dxdiag is.

For a comparison I'm going to load that job on a Win10 install that shows a driver for the onboard graphics rather than the generic PnP install on this Win7.
The board i'm using is something that fell in the cracks of compatibility problems. In Other words, the set up disk is for Win10 and above.

  4. I did not see dxdiag in the videohelp software group.

But I have loaded the video into the current updated Subtitle Edit with Win10 on an SSD and it looks much better: no jaggies or frame skips.

On the dxdiag , the most I can do is go to c:\ type it in and hope it runs. I encoundter too much trouble with
    command line.

    Videohelp software?
It's a Windows diagnostic program, included with Windows, run it from a command prompt or RUN box

  7. All the screens in DXdiag show no problems.

However SE on this motherboard and Win7 go skipping through video. Also of note the boxes for text editing are blank.

I'll have to recreate a Subtitle Edit error involving some path to a DLL and make a screen shot of that. All this has my head spinning.

[EDIT] This SE dll error could be because not on Windows 10.

Anyway news of the day is dxdiag found no errors. One thing at a time.
