  1. I have a vid with CC capationing optional in VCl as separate selection. (Only one actually opens.) It's the old typestyle and I wanted to change that.
Is the OCR? And can some one give me a some tutorial for extracting in Subtitle edit. I'll see if I can get it going to do the Teseract demux.

    Use CCExtractor

  3. You can also use clever Ffmpeg-GUI to extract them.

    Use CCExtractor
    https://ccextractor.org/
I used the software link at videohelp. The Windows option downloaded to an .msi file not an executable. There is another program listed
called CCExtractorGUI. That msi has no folder. Should my video content be in a folder with it or something? I don't know how an .msi works.

[Edit] Ok at the CCextractor site it says the .msi is an excutable for windows for CCextractor I guess.

MSI should work fine just double click on it.
But try first what ProWo suggested it might be better for you

  7. Now I have opened the .msi for CCExtractor with GUI at the dashboard screen.

I set the subtitle option to SRT but left everything else.

This should be the easy part, but I'm not getting an MP4 to drag and drop or know how to search for it.
CCExtractor says it works with MP4 in the description. That's what this is.

[edit] I see that the large ADD FILES button on top of screen found my MP4. Ok for that.
The video processed in 14 seconds for a 2 hr 25 min show. I'm about to test the SRT it made. Process time
seemed a little quick but CCExctractor correctly identifies the run time.

CCExtractor has plenty of features. Worth to get knowing.

  8. Success.

Using CCExtractor to make SRT and a variety of other subs gives a much better and more _legible_ look from that old style overly large/streched and just less dense a font to read. Those CC subs look like they are from another era. If any thing comes up I'll reopen the thread.

    Thanks to all who helped.
