My cable setup in the late 90s included an amplifier and splitters, which sometimes produced video interference. The interference is not constant, most of the time it's on and off. I've linked an example of the interference on one capture.

    Example Interference

When capturing these VHS recordings with interference, I'm not sure what to do to remove/minimize these. With Virtualdub & Avisynth I've tried NeatVideo and RemoveSpotsMC without much success. In fact, NeatVideo seems to magnify the interference, as it gets rid of much of the other noise but not the interference.

    Any suggestion ?

  2. The diagonal interference comes and goes which is going to make it harder to deal with. Using Defreq in AVISynth is the usual recommendation. I have used it several times, and it made some improvements, but it was never a miracle worker. You will want to use a denoiser prior to using Defreq.

  3. SCUNet could be use for the denoising,... but that doesn't fix the 'wobbling'.
