Hello. Looking to buy a Blu Ray Drive. Did some research and liked this one. I am new trying to learn how to rip and burn dvd's, blu ray and music cd's.
There were pretty good reviews' on this one but a few people were not happy with it.
I would like feedback please on this device. Does it have everything I need? Is it missing anything I need? It comes with software I don't particularly want to use. Any advice on this device really appreciated. Any recommendation's on another devices appreciated also. Thanks

The Cyberlink PowerDVD software license provided with this drive is "CyberLink Media Suite 14 OEM". Current version is version 22. When trying to play a standard Blu-ray disk, the software pukes, will not play, makes you download a Ultra HD Blu-ray Advisor that proceeds to tell you that in order to play a standard Blu-ray disk you need "PowerDVD 15 Ultra (Retail version) version or above. Thank you Pioneer for providing software that does not play Blu-ray disks of any kind.
The Cyberlink PowerDVD software will not play Ultra HD Blu-ray disks for several reasons, the first of which is that INTEL DOES NOT SUPPORT PLAYBACK OF ULTRA BLU-RAY COPY PROTECTED MATERIAL SINCE 2021 when they dropped support of their SGX trusted execution enviornment from their processors that are in all laptops and desktops. Does Pioneer not know this?!? Of course they do. Furthermore, again the Cyberlink Ultra HD Blu-ray Advisor software states that (among other reasons) that Cyberlink "PowerDVD 17 Ultra (Retail version) or above" is required to play Ultra HD Blu-ray disks.
