    I use this program MPEG Streamclip 1.2.1b6 to join my videos that are in VOB format from DVDs. It's excellent, it doesn't cause any loss of the original file and it does the conversion job quickly. But I wanted to know if there is one that does the same job, is also fast, that doesn't make the files huge and that I can add audio from another file, just like VirtualDub does.

  2. For unprotected DVD's you could try clever FFmpeg-GUI.
    It rips the movie to a single mpg, for further elaborations.
    Drag the first vob of the titleset (g.e. VTS_01_1.VOB) on the startscreen and answer yes and the whole titleset (1 from the example) will be ripped.
    Then you can g.e. recode the videostream and/or the audiostream aso.

    Didn't work for me, it says I can not add vob files.

  5. Hi ProWo. I've got a request for you: can you add feature "Split" ? I noticed there are features Cut and Join, but Split is missing. Feature Split means:
    2 (or more) equal size parts (just one process);
    or split by selection (Start Time/End Time). For example: 1 hour lenght video can be splitted in 2 parts : first part 20 minutes lenght, second part 40 minutes lenght (ust one process).
    Could you add this feature ?

    Is already added; use the cut function.

    I don't understand. For example: how can I get 4 equal size parts in just one process ? What I have to do?
    Another example: if I've got 1 hour video lenght and I cut by selection (start time 00:00:00 end time 00:20:00) I just get this parrt - 20 minutes lenght; I don't get the second part - 40 minutes lenght. I don't think function Split is added. Can you explain?

    As an example, for a movie with 01:00:00 duration, splitting in 4 equal parts:
    Enter 00:00:00 as start and 00:15:00 as end, click check times, the 1st cut mark is setted.
    Enter 00:15:00 as start and 00:30:00 as end, click check times, the 2nd cut mark is setted.
    Enter 00:30:00 as start and 00:45:00 as end, click check times, the 3th cut mark is setted.
    Enter 00:45:00 as start and 01:00:00 as end, click check times, the 4th cut mark is setted.
    Then click cut, you get 4 equal parts.
    The cuts ar made on keyframes, small time deviations are therefore possible.
