Here is my question I have made my .wav file from dvd2avi but I need to add about 19 seconds of silence or extend before the muzic starts..cause its off by 19 seconds with voice, music etc. Is there any way to do this.

I have tried goldwave but cant figure out how to do it..if you can please be descriptive in how this process is done.

You'll need to give a bit more information. What exactly are you trying to do? Are you making an avi, VCD etc? What programs are you using?

  3. If you are trying to make VCD or SVCD I would highly recommend using TMPGenc audio skew feature....it is far easier than adding silence to a .wav file...try that first...especially if you know that it is exactly 19 seconds that you need to add. If you don't know the exact amount, use Virtualdub's audio skew to figure out how many milliseconds you need to get in synch and THEN use TMPG

  4. Go to the how to section. Select the edit box. Scroll down to the article on out of sync video. It will show you how to use gold wave for either starting your audio before or after the video. Just follow the step by step instructions it really is easy.

  5. This is the way I would do it, and may be the easiest. Just open Windows Sound Recorder (it's usually on the Start Menu under Start/Programs/Accesories/Multimedia) Then just hit record for about 19 seconds. Make sure that nothing else that makes sound is on at the time - such as videos, cd's, microphone, etc. It should record 19 sec. of "white noise". Then, save it as something like, "blank.wav" or whatever you want. Then, go to edit, and add file. Add the wav file that you needed the 19 sec. of silence for, and save the wav as something else. Try not to save the file as the names of either of the originals, this will sometimes screw the file up.
