  1. What is the best brand and model for this type of SATA to USB converter to use in conjunction with a 5.25" DVD Drive and 3.5" HDD? Which brand has the best quality and durability?

    There is no such a thing as best brand for adapters. Either they work well or they don't.
    Just order a suitable adapter from AliExpress.
    I bought this adapter and I am quite happy with it.

    If you find a cheaper adapter then buy it.

  3. Does any of these models have more stability, heat up less, greater compatibility and durability? Does the chip used in it have an influence?

    I don't think there is enough data that answers your questions. I suggest to contact few OEM manufacturers (NOT the resellers) and ask them for their input, but I doubt very much if they would bother to answer.
    These adapters are so cheap to manufacture maybe $1-$2 at most, but the end user pays about $20.
