Greetings, I've recently acquired a Panasonic NV-F55. Everything on it works great except that the picture has some ghosting-like effects and a huge vertical white and black line on the right side of the picture.
I've cleaned the heads but it did not help, also tested various cables and TVs (but no CRTs, as I currently don't own one of these). The image was rather shaky on TVs and a bit darker than usual.
The tapes tested with this player were also tested in other two players and had no issues.
Connecting something like a PlayStation 2 via RCA IN does not reproduce this issue, neither does playing a blank tape back.
I've attached some short captures — one of them is a 16:9 broadcast and I included it for the fact that it shows a huge white flash on the bottom letterbox.
Does anyone know what it could be?![]()

I would stick to the working players and toss this, it is not even worth fixing, it's just a regular VHS VCR, nothing special about it, Unless you're good at troubleshooting electronics and trace circuit faults then you can give it a try, probably start with the power supply first.
