This was done strictly as a test: I've never even attempted to make any use of a Blu-Ray ISO, and just wanted to check it out, including as to which of my playback devices might be able to play one directly. (Only some of them can handle the DVD ISOs, for example.) The job, converting the complete BD50 file structure in Fab, seemed to complete O.K. When I went to check it in VLC, playback failed right away, due to "lack of an AACS library." I know that my MakeMKV incorporates this capability intrinsically, and had already made a good MKV version of the same item. It was my intention to compare the two, upon playback. Day in day out, I'm quite content with having the MKV, and what MakeMKV can do. As I said, this was just a test. So, my question: is there any way to roll the AACS info function into the BR ISO when it's being made / converted by Fab ? And if so, How ? Seems to me this is something that Fab is supposed to be able to do, natively ?

    Thanks.

Seems like you're suggesting that this was a problem on the VLC playback end, as opposed to what Fab had converted ? The main point would be to get to (an ISO) result that is ready to playback on various devices, such as Nvidia Shield. Preferably a self-contained result. One of my regular playback devices, an Oppo BR deck via USB connection, is supposed to have special firmware that supports direct playback of ISO files. However, maybe not if they happen to be copy protected . . . .

[Fab has an "Add Files" option for the processing to ISO format. The question then becomes, "Add them Exactly to Where ?"]

[Tried the AACS fix for VLC from that link, got further along, but a different error this time: "Blu-Ray disc is corrupted", with failure to load. So, evidently, the conversion result from Fab is not much liked, out in the world. MakeMKV already disses Fab in some error -- or at least Warning -- messages . . . . Well, I have a few other converters available here, not sure which of them can handle BR files, but may give that a shot.]
