I just bought the new seinfeld 4k box set and used Make MKV to rip a disc to my hard drive the issue is how do you name each episode so plex or jellyfin know what episode it is?
Doing this by hand would be very time consuming.
Is there a way to automate this process? I would have to go and watch each file to figure out what each episode is called.

Use Bulk Rename Utility
https://www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk/
Unfortunately MakeMkv doesn't allow naming the ripped files per customer needs. -
i have file names like
Seinfeld Season 3 Disc 1_t00
Seinfeld Season 3 Disc 1_t01
and so on. Use Bulk Rename Utility does not know what episode Seinfeld Season 3 Disc 1_t00 is. -
You have to prepare an Excel sheet with one column (A) that has the current title (including the file extension) and another column with the final title that you want (Column B). Then save as csv file.
Then use Bulk Rename Utility. Watch out for any errors that you get and correct them until you get everything in green.
Recommend to use at first one title to practice until you see the change.Last edited by Subtitles; 4th Jan 2025 at 06:43. Reason: Corrected Columns positions

I use the following naming convention for use with KODI
Code:Show Name s01e01 First Episode Name.mkv Show Name s01e02 Second Episode Name.mkv
