  1. I must have touched something should'nt have. I'm stepping through dialogue using the video screen 'Arrow' and it is just jerking- stopping at very short intervals even in the middle of a sentence or, say rapping on a door. I can't see to find a way to play audio until I hit the arrow to stop it. A small problem but very confusing.

    This arrow?
    It skips ahead 3 seconds on each press as far as I can see.

  3. Thanks for the screen shot. I think I have it under control now by first using the grey 'play' button and then on the player using the arrow to stop it.
    The jumps forward were much less than three seconds and uniform in time it seemed. Like looking for peaks or something. It's an unusual dilmma and I've been using SE for some time. Even so, there are confusing things in it with timers, repeaters and not to mention just editing time during its recalculations. But it's the program I'm somwhat used to and grateful for all Nikolaj does on it.

    Pressing the space bar can be used to stop/start the playback

  6. Still problems while I am working. I know the spacebar doesn't do anything at least on this Subtitle Edit 4.05.
    Perhaps a reinstall is needed.

    If I am using the triangle arrow on the video, what is happening is progress seems to be 'running' on the audio window;
    Very confusing. And the upshot is it does not stop at the cue points I want to hit.

    After working the program so long, it feels different.

    I'll see if I can reinstall and not lose anything.

  7. Jeez, this might be a mouse problem-- contacts on the buttons reacting differently.
    I've switched back to one that is old, worn but still operating. At least perhaps it will solve this.

  8. I think that is it. A hard problem to diagnose.

    Yes that seems to have fixed it.
