Capture device in use when its not??????

Sorry, after 3 days no one answered in 'off topic'so I thought I might try my post here. (still havent figured it out after many more frustrating hours )

I recently installed a pinnacle DC10+ in my Duron 800, I never tested the camera (after the DC10 installation) before I had to reformat the H/D, so I dont know if the problem existed then.

After the reinstall of everything I got to installing my Quickcam express, no dice..... the quickcam program opens it comes up with a pop up to select the capture device, which after 3x pressing OK, the prog opens with the mess "The logitech quickcam express device is currently being used by another application".

I've tried turning off the pinnacle device in control panel, have tried turning off everything bar the essentials in [ctr] [alt] [del], still no go.

How do I turn off the capture card fully (short of pulling it), as I think that is the root of my problem.

If any one has a simmilar Pinnacle/Quickcam config. could you plz let me know if you are/arn't experiencing simm. problems.

there is really no easy way...you can't totally diasble the dc10 short of pulling it....even if you disable it or you uninstall its drivers, it is likely still being assigned an IRQ by your computer (an IRQ conflict could be whats causing the problem...)
