"simulate connected 3d display" option in Xreveal: what is the purpose?

Hello all,

i'm in the process of backing up all my 3D Blu-Rays.
Mostly i use MakeMKV but some Discs which gave errors on MakeMKV i could copy with "Xreveal"

Now in Xreveal there is this option "simulate connected 3d display" in the settings.
(I think, there is a similar option in AnyDVD as well)

There is no such option in MakeMKV

So honestly i don't know what it is about and if i should check it or not.

Maybe someone can shed a light?

i asked in the support section at Xreveal's website.
This is what they wrote:

That option is only used for Blu-ray 3D, some 3D discs detect when a 3D display is connected before they can be played. Leave it checked (the default value).
