I would like to hear your opinion about your portable Internet Radios.
Which brand names do you have and a rough idea about the price.
My Technisat Techniradio 6 S IR needs repair because of it's poor design and reliability, so I am looking for a better portable Internet radio.
    Thanks for your suggestions.

oops apparently there is no section for portable radios. This post is under Portable Videos.

  2. Well, I'm going to bump this; but only because this is the first time I have ever seen anything about a portable Internet radio. First thought process (before I find time to check the Net) is that this would be like a super slimmed down computer? Super slimmed down phone style device? Interesting.

In fact, I'm not even sure I have a handle on what a portable video is.

But this gets me to thinking that I get really, really irritated at folks that don't watch where they are walking because they are glued to that phone device. My habit has become to just freeze when I see someone coming at me glued to their phone and not watching where they are going. I figure if I'm not moving they can't complain when they plow into me. Or almost do so and get frightened.

Portable radio, though, wouldn't be a problem. Reminds me of Armed Forces Network and Charlie Tuna. But that was way, way back in time. Now it is Far East Network in this AO. Any of you remember the boom-boom box days?
Who will eventually be chosen to regulate the Internet?

I'd never heard of a portable Internet radio until today.

Last time I listened to radio on the internet, Mark Cuban hadn't yet sold Broadcast.com (AudioNet.com).

Portable internet radios have been around for quite few years now.
Some of the brand names that make them are : Sangean (Best radios IMHO) (Japan, Taiwan), Technisat Techniradio (French) and others.
They are probably more popular in Europe than the US because of the DAB+ service.
The radios have DAB+, FM (with RDS) and Internet radio or just FM and Internet radio
    Here is an example

They can also work on batteries which makes it portable, but for internet radio reception you need to be in the range of your WiFi signal.
