  1. Hello,

I'm new to VirtualDub and I've been using it to touch up old VHS captures. I like the filters and am pleased with the results. However, I need to export the video to MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. Exporting to an uncompressed AVI filed just isn't feasible due to the file size. What is the best way to do this?

    Thanks.

VirtualDub has a frame server. It also supports external command-line encoders.

  3. Use VirtualDub2. It can directly export to MPEG 4 (ffmpeg, xvid) or more modern codecs like h.264 (AVC) and h.265 (HEVC).

  4. Above answers are correct but you can also export your framework using compression - just select desired codec, set desired compression parameters and start exporting.
