I have been deinterlacing old DV footage with AVISynth an QTGMC and output an AVI format keeping as much data ass possible.
The format worked fine in older Premiere CS6 but with the new 2024 version, I get the media pending and the main monitor just freezes.
Any help? Any others having problem with new Premiere on various formats?
There are many many hours of footage, so I hope I don't need to deinterlace again..
MediaInfo outputs this info on the format:

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/supported-file-formats.html lists the supported formats.
If you need others you probably should look into plugins like https://www.autokroma.com/Influx which iirc is basically a libav wrapper,...users currently on my ignore list: deadrats, Stears555, marcorocchini -
My guess is that your old Premiere version was a 32-bit application which could use 32-bit VfW codecs, but your new version is most probably a 64-bit application which may require 64-bit versions of your VfW codecs installed to open videos in such a format; or an alternative codec plugin which does not rely on VfW codecs installed in your Windows system.

Ok thanks!
Two questions, before I commit to buy the Influx plugin:
IF the codec is the problem, would I still be able to play the files in windows using MPC with Klite mega which I have? Because that works fine.
The files seem to work first in Premiere, then they go pending. Preimere also goes incredibly slow when I import the files. Should it not warn for unsupported media instead? -
1. test it before you buy it
2. vfw and direct show filters are different things and MPC-XX comes with it's own decoders

Ok so the problem has gone even more puzzling. I just remembered, I have used Premiere 2024 for deinterlaced DVD footage output to the exact same format. The only difference is a bit lower "overall bit rate: 112 Mb/s". And it works fine!
Any new thoughts?
Is the "Overall bit rate : 142 Mb/s" too high for premiere? -
No clue -> ask Premiere Support
