Hello Forum,

I have been trying to burn VCD's for about a week now. I have seriously read through the Forums and the FAQs over here but she won't play! This is getting exhausting!

My problem is that when I play a VCD in my APEX-AD660, I get a skip in the audio then the picture goes blocky and it tries to catch up, but then it seems to slow down. Then it regains its self and repeats the process. Its also worth noting, that it will play commercial VCDs.

The files I am using are mpegs.
I am using Nero 5.5.7.2 and I have tried other versions of Nero as well. I am using TMPGEnc to re-encode the files just to see if it would solve my problem and it does not.

I have also tried to burn the Mpeg without converting it with TMPGEnc to let Nero do the converting, and I reached the same conclusion.

I have tried burning at the slowest speeds to see if it mattered, and it didn't.

I am using PNY Technologies CDR 80 MIN 700MB High Performance 16x Speed CDR's I purchased at BEST BUY. On the package it says its cool for Video on DVD players with VCD support.

I burned an mp3 cd and it plays fine on the DVD player using those CD's (don't know if that matters, but it seems the laser can pick it up I guess)

The DVD Player plays MP3's DVD SVCD and VCD's.

The DVD player also has an option to change from NTSC or PAL.

I feel I am getting very close because it works. It just works partially.

I appreciate the help guys and I know a lot of you have this player, and I have read your postings also. Where am I going wrong?
