I am also a newbie and seeing something about needing to be approved, but one notification stated something about after the first post was approved then I could do this-or-that and so a first post was approved, but now the second one waits for approval and the third one I got some blackness and didn't even see a "wait for approval" thingy. BUT I see that third post try (a different thread) gave me a subscribed thread in my account, so I guess that is in an approval queue.

So I poked around and couldn't seem to locate where the info is about this newbie approval information is located.

All your posts are approved now. It's to stop bot spammers and it's not just for new users. The manual approval block may depends of a lot different things because spammer bots are getting smarter and smarter.

Thank you for the feedback, and I had no problem with the policy because I am fully aware of the spammers trouble.

As for that blackness situation that happened, I'm not sure why, but that browser is connected to a data gathering tool and I have all the necessary information to go digging into that data and see if it gives a hint what happened. But it is more than likely that trouble was because of something at my end. As you can tell from my data your admin records show, I bounce around from browser to browser and I lost my static IP address due to a battle I lost with SoftBank, so sometimes this unit gives me trouble. But it was kind of cute. Some reason I didn't do a screen grab, or I could show you right now what that page looked like.
