  1. Yes, I know that QTReader vfp plugin for TMPGEnc can convert quicktime mov files to AVI or MPG, but I have hit a snag.

I have the latest version of both quicktime and qtreader installed on my machine, but I am incapable of converting one of the Lord of the Rings Trailers. Tmpgenc shows a still clip saying that quicktime 5.0.2 or newer needed.

Is QTReader unable to process the latest quicktime files? If so, does anyone know of any other way to convert? The quicktime pro player won't export this file because of security reasons.

  2. I use EO Video to conver .mov to .mpg

The mov you have sounds like it could well me a streaming video. To that there is a solution. You'll need URL Snooper and StreamboxVCR to capture it to your hard drive.
