Probably exactly what the error message says: status 403 means "forbidden". Which can have a lot of reasons.

You are trying to download a video resolution 1920x1080 from a URL you don't mention. Did you obtain the command from a video with that resolution? Do the lower resolutions error out with the same error?

Can someone please tell me how to change user-agent for WidevineProxy2 Extension？I'm using chrome on mac, it won't get 1080p from channel 4, but woks on windows. Then someone on this forum said changing user-agent might solve it, so I use "User-Agent Switcher and Manager" extension to change user-agent to windows, but still get mac user-agent "User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/134.0.0.0 Safari/537.36" from cmd.

@morgancasey: Can't help you here. First I'm not willing to type the command from a screenshot to try myself. Then I guess it geo restricted, and last maybe paid content?

N_m3u8DL-RE has a switch --log-level DEBUG. Try that, maybe it gives you a clue as to where the "403" comes from.

I've been using this excellent extension for a few months on D#ZN and am#zon, worked great until a couple of weeks ago.

Now I don't get and keys after starting the video.. I haven't changed anything my end..

The video doesn't start, I don't think it did before but I used to get the keys, now it just hangs and nothing happens.

Using on FireFox and Chrome.

Have I missed and update or am I doing something wrong?

I've been trying to gets some things from MGM+. When I play the videos 720p is the limit. I have found though if I simply take the .m3u8 and rename it as 1080 or even 2160 the mpd exists (playlist_2160.m3u8). I know the keys aren't the same but is it possible to force it to play in order for WidevineProxy2 to get the key or do we again need L1 CDM?

Edit: The above is just an example that has a 4k stream. What's my real frustration is that they have a movie in 1080p that I thought was only 720p and has never had a Blu-ray release. I desperately want to rip that.

Edit 2: Found out this doesn't work even for the 720p version for the movie I posted above.

I re-tested the older movie I referred to in the 'Edit' comment and found the 720p DID work if I used the .mpd link instead of the .m3u8. Not sure if that was a fluke or necessary.

I ALSO found the pssh from the 1080p mpd file is identical to the pssh in the 720p mpd... so they use the same key. I literally just needed to use the key from WVP2 and copy the 720p .mpd link, but rename 720 as 1080 when running n_m3u8dl-re.

extension only fetch streams that are playing in your browser, in this case MGM limited browser with 720p so you can't get 1080p/4k with browser, must use a script to get these quality

You didn't follow the instructions in the start post. You have to choose a CDM (wvd file).

Hi there, I'm attempting to get the keys from a Discovery Plus stream. I'm using my own L3 CDM from an Android phone which is confirmed to work. When I go on the Discovery Plus stream, it fetches two key pairs but when I attempt to play the stream using N_m3u8DL-RE, I am unsuccessful as the key pairs are wrong. Any ideas what could be causing the addon to fetch the wrong keys? Thanks.

Setup
+ Once installed, open the extension, click `Choose File` and select your Widevine Device file.
+ The files are saved in the extension's `chrome.storage.sync` storage and will be synchronized across any browsers into which the user is signed in with their Google account.
+ Due to the sync storage limit of 100KB, the maximum amount of installable of devices at the same time is ~30.
+ Check `Enabled` to activate the message interception and you're done.
