"I love using my MP3 player, but there's something that's been bugging me. I have some music tracks that have been extended to around 30 minutes, instead of their usual 2-5 minute length. Whenever I play these extended versions, they seem to drain more battery than regular songs. I'm curious—why does this happen, especially on older MP3 players?

I can only guess that the electronic components used in older players where not designed for the least power consumption during play.
Also check the battery power ratings in mAh in the older models versus the newer models.

  3. Just a guess, but it can be about buffer size - if the latter is too small, you need to reread the file many times, hence more energy needed
