problems converting avi to mpegs using tmpg

---Why sometimes does a file that is converting always lock up at the same place? Is it a bad file? I also have Nero 5.5 burning software, it can convert to mpegs, it is very slow, but it also locks up on certain avi files at the same place everytime?

If it locks up at the same place on the same file. I would say it was a bad file. I just went through this and it was a bad file. It played OK, but when I tried to encoded it to mpeg it locked up at the same point everytime. It was a divx file. I checked it with divxfix. You can get it in the tools section to your left.
