Reading the Home VCR Repair book it recommends a chamois stick but I don't see them anywhere so are these good as an alternative?

Edit: Have used paper and 99% iso which I get conflicting advice on.

I already use 99% isopropyl. Was just the cleaner part needed. Ill check out the MG Chemicals 810D-15 Double Head Chamois Swab @lollo mentioned.

Avoid open cel foam, it snags heads.
