  1. Please give a program solution to convert CUE files to MP3. I just don't know where to start and do not care to use an online source.
Can Audacity do this as a simple 'SAVE AS' ? Or Goldwave? Those are the two progs I have on system. Only a handful of these audios to do so I can easily do them one at a time.

the cue file itself is usually a text file that describes the song(s) layout.
They often work with a BIN file that contains the music,
or they point directly to the wav or mp3 source files
    For example:
    Code:
TITLE "In My Little Corner Of The World"
    PERFORMER "Anita Bryant"
FILE "S:\music\Anita Bryant - In my little corner of the world\01 - In My Little Corner Of The World.mp3" MP3
    REM FILE-DECODED-SIZE 02:39:06
      TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "In My Little Corner Of The World"
        PERFORMER "Anita Bryant"
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "S:\music\Anita Bryant - In my little corner of the world\02 - Moon Over Miami.mp3" MP3
    REM FILE-DECODED-SIZE 03:16:21
      TRACK 02 AUDIO
        PREGAP 00:02:00
        TITLE "Moon Over Miami"
        PERFORMER "Anita Bryant"
        INDEX 01 00:00:00
    FILE "S:\music\Anita Bryant - In my little corner of the world\03 - I Love Paris.mp3" MP3
    REM FILE-DECODED-SIZE 02:14:00
      TRACK 03 AUDIO
        PREGAP 00:02:00
        TITLE "I Love Paris"
        PERFORMER "Anita Bryant"
        INDEX 01 00:00:00

Did not try that, but I guess that CD has to be *ripped* (via EAC or something), not just bit-to-bit copied into disk image as is.

Well if you use EAC or similar to do a traditional rip, you end up with mp3 or wav files, no?
In that case, there is no cue file, and you have the audio files at hand.

    Does EAC do something else?

  6. Thanks for answering and apologies for being slow on the reply.
Problem solved when I found my MP3s made with all these CUE files.
They weren't in a proper folder or something. It was a job I did ages ago. I don't have any details on it. I think in those days I used Audiograbber from the CD source. EAC I have on the desktop yet.

I'll look over the replies and see if something is worth a try just to complete the topic.

  7. @ davenet,
    EAC can do many things.
You can create a cue file to use with EAC & you can burn CDs with it.
I prefer ImgBurn to burn with but EAC will do that,It can do several audio formats like FLAC for example.
ImgBurn can do data CDs as well with several albums of .mp3s
I prefer to do .wav for an Audio CD rip.

Thanks for the info, Imgburn can also do this.

But in the instance of a cue/bin, where the bin file is a disk image containing the music tracks,
extracting the songs is not so straight forward.
The old WinISO 5.3 could extract the wav files from the bin file, that was better than nothing

  9. @ davesnet,
Lightning UK! the author of ImgBurn has a very good guide on how to burn from several of the audio formats to an Audio CD.
    https://forum.imgburn.com/topic/5555-how-to-write-an-audio-cd-from-music-files-using-imgburn/

The difference with EAC is it can rip an Audio CD to several different Audio formats.
    So each have their place.
