Panasonic NVDS29B - not recording or viewing video

Hello, I have this Mini-DV camcorder (Panasonic NV DS29B) and it no longer records video on the tapes nor can playback the video.

I have tried using new mini dv tapes but it still doesn't work. It was working fine but then stopped suddenly, the camera turns on and the screen looks normal with no warning symbols, but the power button underneath the menu flashes when I try to record.
It also makes a lot more whirring noises when starting up.
The manual has no information on what's going on either and other results suggest condensation, but I haven't used it near anything moist and there is no warning sign for it.

Any ideas on how to fix this or what's gone on?
(Please don't tell me it's beyond broken )

If there is a reset in the settings, or a recessed reset button, try that,
or you can remove power cable and battery and leave if for 20 minutes.
If it's still bad take it to somebody who knows what they're doing
