Hi, I am trying to capture a VHS video from an old VHS player (SLV-SE440).
It was made for Russia as well as the VHS tapes I am trying to play. It worked fine if connected to the old PAL tv.
The VHS player has a coaxial output which I connected to WinTV-HVR-955Q.
Audio is perfect, but the picture is blue-ish with red lines on the edges (see picture).
I am suspecting the tuner still trying to decode the picture as NTSC? Any way to fix that?
If you can suggest any other ways to capture PAL signal, maybe by purchasing the different tuner/receiver it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Roman.

I think in Russia they used SECAM from what i read:
Wikipedia: PAL
I had some similar situation capturing PAL60.
Possible you can make it work too with this procedure as shown here?

Thanks! I managed to fix the issue by choosing Germany in the wintv configuration for the signal to ensure it is PAL and not secam.
I suspect their application sets secam if you choose Russia, but vhs signal is PAL. As far as I remember all tvs were working in dual mode PAL/SECAM when I was a kid
