  1. I've tried using Mac's native screengrab to record the screen while playing RTE player Full-screen with Blackhole as audio recording instead of built-in Mic, but it only records audio with no video, just a white screen.

I've tried using VLC screen recording, and again, audio but no video.

Searched various forums for apps that might help, but they all seem to only be for Windows, and even those apps seem to have been removed from the download pages, or the pages have been blocked since the forum posts were made.

Is there any other current methods I haven't tried, that will work for Mac?

I suggest you reading sticky threads. You will be able to get keys and download the encrypted content. That would be way more easier than recording it.

  3. Hi aqzs, thanks for the tips. I'm not sure what keys are. I tried looking through some of the sticky threads, although I don't have any experience with coding, my background is photography and video, so I'm pretty lost tbh. Is there any specific 'read me' file or app I could download on Mac (most only seem to be for Windows) that could help me get started?
[edit: I've been focusing on the Devine thread up to now, as it seems to be an option for downloading from free streaming sites, although I can't see where to download the app installer itself]

Answer to points 1,2 and 3: Having no experience in coding makes you par with 99% of the users here and feeling lost is how we all feel when faced with a voluminous and new topic to learn. Unfortunately what you are asking to do is break the Digital Rights Management system for RTE. And no 'app' exists to help you in the form of download-install-point-and-click.

Question for point 4: Why? Has someone written a service for RTE?

There are solutions, and if you able to follow instructions, install 'helper' software and find out how to run a python script, you may reach your goal. Being observant helps too!
Noob Starter Pack. Just download every Widevine mpd! Not kidding!.

    Hi,

I get some stuff from RTE Player using Freevine.

In my signature there are links on how to get Windows/Linux ready using the command line/CLI/Shell.

Also in both the Win/Linux guides are links to how to get Freevine working
and if you can connect the dots then you have the Freevine running also on
your Mac (that is if you are using the latest OS on it, if not try VM (Virtual Machine with Win or Linux

StabbedByBrick's SERVICES do not offer RTE, neither does TPD94
