  1. Hi all,
i downloaded and decrypted an AAC audio file. It looks like it should be playable (has file header, etc.) but neither ffmpeg nor VLC can play it.
I wasn't able to find anything online.

    Help is greatly appreciated.

You'd better tell us from where you downloaded it and how you decrypted it.
MediaInfo does not read it as an ADTS stream.

  3. The file is from Spotify in the 'AAC_24' format. The decryption is VERY complicated and uses AES.

Hummm, it appears your problematic file is a RAW .aac file, which is ""unplayable"" by nature or/and by definition

ffprobe does detect it as Advanced Audio Coding, but all the other info besides that is a mess

I tried to wrap it in an MP4 container with ffmpeg, but the program outputs a zero-byte MP4 file.

I also gave a try to GraphStudioNext, I managed to build various graphs, however none of the graphs generated an audible output.
