It all depends what you are trying to do.......copy the disc or extract the mpeg file....clone cd will copy a svcd from your dvd rom so you can re burn it again or you can load your svcd disc into you dvd rom, right click and explore cd - click on mpeg2 folder and there is your mpeg file. Hope this helps

  3. try using disc copy feature...i've never had to make an exact copy of an SVCD, so i'm not sure if it'll work...

but i know wut will definitely work is you can goto the MPEG2 directory and look for the avesq01.mpg file (or something similar)...you can copy that directly to your harddrive...however, you can ONLY view it w/ either winDVD or powerDVD....WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER WILL NOT PLAY IT.

if you wanna turn that avesq01.mpg file into an SVCD again, you can just use nero's SVCD template to burn it...

  4. a cdrw is likely to be more proficient at reading a mode2 disc than a regular cdrom or dvdrom. at the very least you'll get fewer uncorrected bit errors

i believe dvd-rom's in general are just not as good as cd-rom or cd-rw in reading cd-rs
