    Does anybody have an opinion which has better video capture for football games? The Colossus 1 (1414) or the HDPVR2?
    720p or 1080i?

    Are you limited to 1080i from the input source?
    There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

    Yes. The STB outputs 1080i max. I've done a bunch of capturing, Just never compared the Hauppauge devices against each other.
    I also have an HDPVR Gaming Edition but I think that's the same chipset of the 1512.

    I have the 1512 and a streaming style stb that can output at 1080p now but had similar questions with my old stb. As a general rule I went with 1080i since my old 1080p tv looked better with that framesize. Maybe it didn't upscale well. I have no ready material to compare now. There are arguments for both. Search the site for "720p vs 1080i" I doubt the viewpoints have changed since then.
    There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.
