I attempting to make and SVCD. I used AVI_IO to capture at 29.97 480x480 for a 1 minute clip. I then used Vdub to inverse telecine (so it is not 24fps) and temporal smoother filter. I save the file using Huff codec. Then I use TMPGEnc to encode. I use the NTSC SVCD Film Template. I choose CBR and 2000kb/s bitrate. In the advanced tab, I choose Video-source type: Non-interlace Field Order: Bottom First, Source Aspect ratio: 4:3 525 line (NTSC) and for Video arrange method I choose Full Screen (keep aspect ratio). I use VCDImagerGUI to make .bin and then burn with Nero. When I play the >> and << work, but the Goto does not (APEX AD600A), there is a slight audio sync problem, and the video is tall and skinny (ie, aspect ratio is not correct). I think my problem with aspect ratio is the Source Aspect Ratio (maybe I should set it to 1:1 ??) or the Video arrange Method? However, I don't know how to fix the Goto or lip sync problem. Is Source Range the way to correct this in TMPGEnc? The sync is just enough to bother you, it is so slight, it has hard to tell if it leads or lags, you can just tell that it is not right.
