    yt-dlp worked fine yesterday. Now when I enter yt-dlp -f <video_url> I get:

    Usage: yt-dlp [OPTIONS] URL [URL...]

yt-dlp: error: You must provide at least one URL.

Type yt-dlp --help to see a list of all options.

    Try quoting the url :
    Code:
    yt-dlp "url"

yt-dlp "url" works with or without quotes. It's when I add -f that I get the error.

Make sure you type that -f yourself, don't copy-paste it from anywhere else. Also send a screenshot of your cmd.

Edit: it's what davexnet just said. If you type -f yt-dlp expects a stream ID after it, if you're not providing it then of course it spits an error.

    Capital F worked. as did yt-dlp --list-formats <video_url>

I used yt-dlp -f <video id> <video_url>. The video downloaded but I got "Possible MPEG-TS in MP4 container or malformed AAC timestamps. Install ffmpeg to fix this automatically" I thought I had ffmpeg installed already. How do I check or install it?

Download from here and put it in the same folder as yt-dlp or add to PATH.
