  1. well, i can't say i am an expert, but at least i have been able to help some people out...

perhaps one can help me out this time...

and the subject says it all... okay, here i have an (s)vcd, that is not swallowed by my dvd standalone player (and it's the first one that i have troubles with)... when walking through the contents, i found the file AVSEQ04.MPG, it's the largest file on the disk (there are more .MPG files) and it is supposed to be an NTSC widescreen MPEG2 file...

using the tools of tmpgenc b12e, i remultiplexed it, and although the file was unplayable (blocky, jumpy, out of sync) i could confirm that it was probably that which i was looking for

i'm now fooling around a little more, but here's what it is all about: how do i convert an mpgeg2 .mpg file from an svcd to another format?

or install the mpeg2 codec and you should be able to open mpeg2 directly in tmpgenc but you may get some audio sync problems
