  1. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the 1080p video from the A&E network websites?

For example, in this free video on History.com, I use yt-dlp and get the following:
    Code:
    yt-dlp -F https://play.history.com/shows/the-unxplained/season-3/episode-1
    Image
[Attachment 79504 - Click to enlarge]

As you can see, the highest available quality that yt-dlp detected is 720p

Next, I tried a video on AETv:
    Code:
    yt-dlp -F https://play.aetv.com/shows/hoarders/season-14/episode-1
    Image
[Attachment 79505 - Click to enlarge]

The highest quality is again also 720p

I also tried other A&E Network sites like Lifetime:
    Code:
    yt-dlp -F https://play.mylifetime.com/shows/dance-moms/season-9/episode-1
    and fyi.tv:
    Code:
    yt-dlp -F https://play.fyi.tv/shows/rachael-rays-meals-in-minutes/season-1/episode-1
But they also result in the highest quality being 720p.

Does anyone know of a method (e.g. manipulating the m3u8/mpd content) to be able to download the 1080p version of these videos? I was curious since I have seen 1080p WEB-DLs of series from this network.

  3. Sadly on A&E direct they don't give you 1080P versions of the stream - you can only grab them from other sites (Hulu, Philo etc)

  5. When you were grabbing the show from Hulu, were the shows behind a paywall? I noticed that the Dance Moms video was behind a paywall however the Hoarders, The unexplained, and Rachel Ray were not. Did you have trouble grabbing stuff from behind the paywall with yt-dlp?
