I have a relatively high speed fiber internet with DL speed of 500Mbps with unlimited usage and landline phone. In our building I can go beyond this speed if I want to.
These days I don't really need high speed internet but most companies want users to sign up with higher speeds but they keep the low speed options like with ADSL at a high cost, almost as much as fiber.
Last year I bought a 4G LTE router TP-Link Archer MR600 and tested it with a SIM that I bought for testing and the results were not that good because the download speed were in the region of 30Mbps so I didn't go through with it then. Maybe I could have improved the speed by using external antennas on the roof top but I didn't try that.
Now I am trying to save on the internet costs and I am thinking of ordering a SIM with up to 1000GB internet usage per month or even less and that will cut down the cost by 50% and still it is cheaper than using ADSL. Also I can cancel the landline phone and use VoLTE using another cellular router that I have TL-MR6500v.
Does anyone use cellular routers for the home internet and what is your long term experience so far?
