Have a vhs tape transfer to dvdr mpeg, probably digitized with a computer. Lots of ghosting, and I'm wondering what settings in a deinterlacer could resolve or improve the video. I've tried some methods with Avisynth but still looks ghostly. In the attached sample, you can see the man/woman on the boat later superimposed in the following shot.

That particular part seems like an intended scene blend to me.
Looking at the separated fields:
the ghosting is already in the fields, so I doubt you can remove them by deinterlacing. (maybe something like sRestore, cdeblend, ExBlend can help)users currently on my ignore list: deadrats, Stears555, marcorocchini -
This shot was especially bad given how many frames were ghosted/overlayed, but there's ghosting throughout the video (including TV commercials - this was broadcast). It could be like this on the tape but that would be odd too. I did try Srestore (following QTGMC), not familiar with the others.
