Hello! I'm looking for a DVD player that will work as a TBC or stabilize my VCR signal. I want to capture with my Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro from 2007 PCI-E.
I get these DVD players in local market:
sorry but I don't have the exact models

Would any DVD player with video input and output work?
thank you

I believe only certain dvd RECORDERS do what you want, have a read here

Only a few DVD recorders can work like a line TBC for filtering the signal when capturing problematic VHS tapes. The best-known models are the Panasonic DMR-ES25, DMR-ES10 and DMR-ES10. The Toshiba D-R410 has also been reported to work.
However, they can't fix everything. These machines can only correct problems like flagging and tearing. "Flagging" describes a defective image characterized by a bent, pulled, or slanted picture at the top of the TV screen. "Tearing" describes distortions elsewhere in the image.Ignore list: hello_hello, tried, TechLord, Snoopy329 -
Only some models from Panasonic are recommended for use them as passthrough devices for TBC purposes. Take a look at the DMR-ES25, DMR-ES10 or DMR-ES15 DVD recorders from Panasonic.

Sony's RDR HXD series (includes frame sync "tbc" and proc amps). I had a panasonic E50 (euro) for a minute the sony is much better in every possible way imo. better/modern osd menu, more options for recordings, better quality picture

More specifically, Sony 2007 models and newer, and related pioneer dvd-recorders from 2005 and newer (excluding dvd recorder/vhs combos) that have the NEC chipsets with tbc/stabilization capabilities , not rdr-hxd specifically - (and older sonys the rdr-hxd 710 and 910 are completely different).
Also most panasonics excluding newer US model ones. Not sure if the ones available in argentina are similar to the US market ones (meaning models newer than the DMR-ES15 are crap, or ones sold elsewhere meaning you can use most models). -
Here is an overview of the PAL Sony & Pioneer devices that have been released in Germany and that should be considered (no guarantee of completeness)
Sony:
RDR-HX750/HX950 (2007)
RDR-GX350 (2007)
RDR-HXD870/HXD970/HXD1070 (2007)
RDR-GX380 (2008)
RDR-HX680/HX780/HX785/HX980/HX1080 (2008)
RDR-HXD790/HXD890/HXD990/HXD1090 (2008)
RDR-HXD795/HXD895/HXD995/HXD1095 (2008)
RDR-AT100/AT105/AT107/AT200/AT205 (2009)
Pioneer:
DVR-630H-S/DVR-530H-S (2005) (the last devices before the cooperation with Sony, but are not quite as good as the other devices)
DVR-540H-S/DVR-440H-S/DVR-440H-K (2006)
DVR-645H-S/DVR-545H-S (2006)
DVR-550H-S (2007)
DVR-555H-S (2007)
DVR-LX60/DVR-LX60D (2007)
DVR-LX70D (2007)
DVR-560H-K/DVR-560H-S (2008)
I have the following devices and the performance is relatively equivalent for all devices
-Sony RDR-HXD870
-Sony RDR-HX680
-Sony RDR-AT205
-Pioneer DVR-560H-S
(-Pioneer DVR-630H-S, as described, not as good as the other devices. But he can play back the full resolution of PAL 720x576i & the full range of 0-255 via the S-Video output)
The Sony RDR-HXx70 were to be twins to the Pioneer DVR-x40, the Sony RDR-HXx80 to the Pioneer DVR-x50 and the Sony RDR-HXx90 to the Pioneer DVR-LX70.
The AT series were then the remaining stock from the cooperation with Pioneer after their collapse and should also correspond to the LX70 series or the DVR-x50.
Just look for posts by the user “Orsetto”, he is the expert for the Sony/Pioneer devices.
