  1. Hi, I recently rigged up a tapeless sony hi8 trv67 and have run into a very annoying problem. When I watch the footage in Windows Media Player, it looks perfect. When I upload any one of the videos into an editing software (Ive tried a few) It gets gray glitches and random distortion. I uploaded two screenshots, any help is appreciated.

  2. wild guess: Windows Media Player might use hardware decoding and the editor might not. (might also be a problem handling 'open gop')
    => best share a short sample shows the problem for you
    users currently on my ignore list: deadrats, Stears555, marcorocchini

  3. I figured it out, if anyone else has this issue this is what I did to fix it. I used VLC to convert the files to h.264 + mp3 mp4 files and it got rid of the glitches. shit was so frustrating be we are in business.

    Another good option: don't use WMP. Try VLC, MPC, etc.
