    When I use the fit to disk option when burning a DVD it always compress down to something silly like 2GB when there's 4+GB on the blank DVD. How can I use the full disk?

    If your video is less than an hour fit-to-disc can't fill the disc. Because there is a maximum bitrate that's legal for DVD. At that maximum bitrate 30 minutes of video would only be about 2 GB.
