  1. The video file that I’ve imported defaults to French. This is easy enough to change in a video player, but how do I change the language in OpenShot?

  2. "ctrl+shift+p" should open the preferences (Edit→Preferences) and there under general, see: https://www.openshot.org/static/files/user-guide/preferences.html

Sorry for the late reply. I tried that and it didn’t help. The video source audio is still foreign.

  4. Ah you want to select a different audio track.
at least a few years ago this wasn't possible in Openshot

Could you recommend a good, and easy to use free alternative that does have this feature?

  6. Sorry, never really cared about it much, I just used a different tool to remux the file before feeding opening it with Openshot.
I suspect that others can recommend some NLE which supports inputs with multiple audio streams.
