I'm having a hell time here, and am posting here because I've already tried many different things, and have read a lot of forums without success. There are some SVCDs i.e. LOTR and VCDs i.e. Spawn which when put into this DVD player turn the screen "red" before I even press "play".
This is driving me nuts. Please note that there doesn't seem to be an issue with the player understanding SVCD as "SuperVCD" comes up after the CD is read. I have in the past had a few VCDs that turn the default turn the screen "black & white" before I can play them, but I have managed to remedy this by re-encoding the mpg into PAL. Not so this time. :(
I have even tried forcing the regional settings to US, Asia, etc. (no luck), and went through everything on my VCR (which the DVD player runs through) and have tried just about every combination of the following settings:-
Colour: Auto/PAL/NTSC
NTSC: 3.58/4.43/PAL TV
No success with any of these combinanations. Is there anything anyone can suggest for both of these VCD/SVCD scenarios ..??
p.s. I noticed similar "red screening" once on a friend's DVD player, which is exactly the same model - are there even any firmware options out there for this model..?
