Thank you to as well. It is terrific to have TUBI back again and I appreciate all the work you put into that and your kindness to make it available. One of the terrific things about TUBI is those rarely seen treasures such as "The Greatest American Heroine" that is the pilot of a spinoff or continuation of "The Greatest American Hero".

I hope Freevine continues to work as well for quite a while longer as you don't need credentials to get the free available movies and TV shows on CTV. To sign up for CTV they want a phone number.

I have to figure it out exactly what to put to get 480p and I did try that Hebrew film above and it seem to stall but maybe without airc2 it is so slow that one could go through menopause before it even start. I am hopeful that it is finally going to work.

    This line worked terrific:

    devine dl --list TUBI https://tubitv.com/movies/476645/the-goal

Thank you for your post. Reguests seems to be working fine. My DSL is downloading at maximum about 1 mbps so a 480p 43 minute episode takes about 5 minutes to show up. But DSL is much better than dial up was.

This line stalled and so I shut the window as I thought it might never actually get started.

So I have tried this and I think it is a good sign that it has went this far:

I am going to try to set 480p quality and I just using the requests downloader that is part of Devine. But if it is useless I may have to just go with ariac2. Any advice is appreciated and thank you in advance.

I am getting some success with this but it seems like it is just stalling. There are 4 little white dots oscilating on the video line and the video line says licensed on the other end. There are keys revealed by Widewine. I really hope this works does it show progress or do you just don't know until you know?

This is the line of code I put into Devine:

    devine dl -q 480 TUBI https://tubitv.com/tv-shows/659697/s05-e20-blood-sport-2-hr

Thanks in advance for any help regarding this matter. It may be working and I really want to learn.
The downloading % indicator line is honestly tempermental sometimes. It seems to work most reliably when you set requests as the downloader in your devine.yaml file. If you are getting keys returned, and your devine says "downloading" at the end of the line, things are indeed happening. Aria2c is often the fastest downloader - though personally I've found Tubi to be tempermental with it (I believe it sends a specific header, maybe they block it sometimes?).

So the advice here is : Run the download using requests, see if it indicates it's downloading - if it is, you're in luck! Wait a few minutes, and see if you get your files.

If not, try aria2c, and there is also now "curl_impersonate" as a downloader, which attempts to look entirely like Chrome/Firefox, which may be beneficial.

Let me know how it goes!
Thank you for your post. I know some of us posters are a pain in the butt and a frustration to guide a long. But others I believe learn along with us.

  5. A tip for those just starting out with Devine. Type the following to get the documentation to how to download:

    devine dl -?

That reveals the commands you need to know to work with Devine.

Once again thank you to everyone that helped me and to all the posters to the Freevine and Devine topic threads as I read through and learned from posts that other posters had questions and answers. PSSH you are terrific for the guides and the videos. iamghost is a terrific poster and he has helped me in this thread and others and I hope he or she realizes how much they have helped many here learn and get things accomplished.

Nope, works fine on all operating systems - curl_impersonate is just a python module that is imported.

2 reasons I can think of - your cookies have expired, or Tubi is disagreeing with the downloader header your sending (IIRC they potentially block Aria2c sometimes).

I would export a new cookie set, and try again.

I had thought it might have something to do with the cookie. Well anyway I have exported a new cookie to replace the old one and I also decided to do as you suggested to another person and switch to curl impersonate. Whether it was the cookie change or curl impersonate it is now working. Also as a bonus with curl impersonate it is giving me progress now. With Requests it would look like it was stalled until the video actually got downloaded.

Thank you for your post. Also thank you on behalf of others who may be learning along with me. I hope Devine TUBI works for a long time to come.

  18. I was checking my Devine log files today and found they had already built up to half a GB and with this small hard drive on the Mini Windows 11 PC that can build up so I took a chance and deleted them and Devine is working fine. So it might be a good idea perhaps once a week to delete the logs depending on how much you are using Devine and how big your PC hard drive is. I am hoping to be able to contribute tips and such to balance the scales a bit as I have had so much help and guidance it would be nice to give back a bit.

I am also going to try to learn today about the odd TubiTV video that has Descriptive Video and how to make sure you get your typical audio instead. I remember "Birds Of Prey" had descriptive video and thus when using Freevine a poster in the Freevine thread told me what to put in the .yaml file to deal with that.

    Additional Information:

I did a list command to get the video details of "Birds Of Prey" and it does list two audio tracks. I am doing a test download and so far it seems to be defaulting to the typical audio track but I won't know until I test it to make sure. However for those who want descriptive audio or both perhaps another poster can educate me and others as well.

Another tip when it comes to multiple videos you want to download you can list them in notepad for example:

    devine dl -q 480 TUBI http:your url
    devine dl -q 480 TUBI http:your url 2

just select the entire list and copy and paste into Devine and it works away at it

I am back and the "Birds Of Prey" download got the typical audio track so unless you want to get the descriptive audio track you will not have. Perhaps someone will chime in and give some guidance on how to get descriptive audio or both audio files to chose between if that is what you want to have.

  19. DSCP users are recommended to update the service as I've fixed and added some things.

    - Ads are now completely removed from all account types and regions.
    - UHD titles, if available, can be downloaded by using -v H.265 (this will trigger the progress bar bug but it works fine).

Not at the moment. I thought sport was only live events so I never bothered with it, but it looks like there are replays as well.

I'll put it on the to-do list.

It varies between services, but in most cases you shouldn't have to replace it every few days unless you're regularly logging out of your account.

Which service are you referring to?

Thank you for your post on behalf of myself and others that are learning along with me.

TUBI is the only service I use with Devine for now anyway. I just log into my account to get the cookie and then I use the extension program to get the cookie and put in it my cookies folder. Then I log out and delete my browser history on the way out. I also deactivate the extension that gets the cookies until I need it again. I also have started to do that with the latest version of video downloadhelper deactivate until it is needed. I know it sounds silly but the permissions just make me uneasy.

On a related note I remember last year the Linus Tech Tips YouTube Channel was hacked and I remember Linus discussing it with his colleague on a video and he said part of it was due to a permanent cookie where he had logged in and told the browser to remember him. Somehow someone was able to get that cookie and hacked into the account and chaos ensued. I make it a practice to never save passwords and such on the computer just write them down and commit to memory.

Ah, so - that will likely be your problem. When you log out, you tell Tubi to "burn" your cookie set. This will be what is causing you to have to probably refresh them more frequently than expected. There's nothing wrong with leaving the browser logged in, and the extensions enabled.

As for your passwords, I would actually advise the opposite. Get a password manager that looks after them for you! You can also use a password manager to generate and store much more secure passwords than you could ever remember in your head. Keepass is a great start.

As for the Linus Tech Tips incident. There's actually a little bit more to it than that. An attacker was able to get malware to run on one of their employees machines that then harvested cookies out of browser storage - so the attack vector you really need to worry about here is somehow getting malware on your machine. Albeit you (unless you're secretly famous) a) likely aren't worth targeting and b) it's a cookie for Tubi anyway so likely not even something anyone would bother stealing as Tubi is free .
