[Release] Widevine L3 Guesser Extension-Works in 2024 Firefox/Chrome All OS

I currently have two editions of this extension, NextGen and Legacy, and am considering adding two new editions of GetWVKeys and Pico here.
Below is an overview of the existing and the editions we are considering adding.

NextGen
It works by running the Pywidevine script inside a web browser's sandbox by Pyodide(WebAssembly).
It is the most actively developed and has many features, including support for multiple licensing schemes.
All processing is performed on a local sandbox and best for your Opsec.
Since WASM is compiled at each execution, it takes a little time to get the key.

Legacy
Requests to the license server are made from the web browser, but the key acquisition itself depends on WVCore.Server API.
WVCore and the framework (.NET) are open source, but may contain non-free blobs such as telemetry owned by Microsoft.
The WVCore have to set up separately outside the browser and is not protected by the browser's sandbox.
It will not be actively maintained unless someone is found to continue developing it as an LTS.

GetWVKeys(Planned)
It works by setting the information necessary to retrieve the key automatically retrieved from the web browser on the form screen of an external GetWVKeys instance.
CDRM has its own extension, but it is bullshit.
It should also support third-party instances such as CDRM, KeysDB, notaghost
It works even if you do not own a CDM key pair, but all processing, including requests to the license server, depends on the external server.
This means that when you send data that may contain sensitive information, such as cookies, the instance operator may be able to retrieve them injustice.
It is also impossible to accommodate custom licensing schemes.

Pico(Planned)
This is a user script that does not have the ability to retrieve Widevine keys, but only extracts some functions such as parsing PSSH, get clearkeys, etc.
This is for people who do not need all the features of the extension.

@FoxRefire whatever you end up developing I applaud you for it. I've pretty much built my own custom GUI that serves all my needs - and some, now that you've given the ability to obtain keys that were somewhat problematic for me via scripts without a huge amount of work.

Perhaps you are misreading the text. I'm not stop development at this time.
I said about the poll at the top of this page.
VBulletin does not seem to be able to change or exit Polls once added. It sucks.
I don't want to use it because of privacy concerns as mentioned above, but the vote is to add an edition of this extension for use with GetWVKeys instances as many people here still want to use it.
Anyway, now that I'm developing other projects not related to DRM and this extension has matured, the development speed may slow down a bit.

I have to admit that I do not fully comprehend the pros and cons of these proposed new features.


The ultimate decision rests with you alone. There is no need for polls. Just follow your bliss and do whatever you think is correct.

Hi, new here and a noob in this matter.

First of all, thank you @FoxRefire for your work on this extension. So I downloaded the NextGen version and installed it on Chrome but I'm not having luck getting keys. No matter what episode I select it's always showing the same and seemingly unrelated PSSH/Licenses Urls and giving the same keys for everything. I checked the extension's console and this is showing up:

for the extension, it's not completely bullshit, �� I have already implemented it in some such as prime, but you have to create a condition so that it will be triggered. for me, it's quite okay, just maybe a little complex on the condition part. Your extension doesn't lose either, very good, and maybe it will become more relevant

There is indeed but the rules are the rules - plus streamfab is in China + don't care - this website is hosted not in China so they'd have a much simpler time getting this site taken down than SF lol.

As a temporary extension, it's "meant to" remove itself. If you haven't seen that happening on browser restart - that's typically an abnormality on your end. Just install it again.

Do all of those work? I believe I did as you said and it's still not working. I ask for keys and it stays loading with no result.

Some websites such as VdoCipher requires one-time-token, once it has consumed, server will not accept challenge from guesser.
This is workaround for this.
When add License URL rules in blockRules.conf and license blocking(Right-click --> Enable License blocking) is enabled, extension block requests to license server declared in the list.
This will prevent the license being obtained and will prevent the video from loaded. Therefore, the one-time token will not be consumed by itself

It's not working on any. Whether it's premium or simply the Demo sites given in the OP. The wheel just keeps spinning as if it's loading but no sign of keys.
