Have a DV8.1 file, bunch of extraneous audio/subtitle tracks and I need to split off some of the footage to make it two separate files. Would usually just drop it into MKVToolnix, check and uncheck as necessary, and remux. But it won't even open. I'm assuming the DoVi profile is the issue.
Is there a way to do this? Searching just turns up people wanting to convert to 8.1 from a lower profile.

Maybe there is something not right with your sourcefile. Can you post the whole MediaInfo data of it?Originally Posted by koberulz
FYI MKVToolnix is perfectly capable of (re-)muxing Dolby Vision. But when doing DoVi, be sure to always set "Default duration/FPS" to the proper value. -

Dolby Vision 8.1 is a single-layer dv, it's no different from a normal MKV, and the MKVVtoolnix should be able to handle it

Try clever FFmpeg-GUI.
Download it, start it and follow the instructions.
Then load your file, click main, click multiplex, set (on the left) the streams you want to retain and click multiplex.
Done. -
