Been filming home movies for some time on my DV camera.
Goal: Create SVCD home movies with all footage.
Use: Have used Adobe premiere & pinnacle studio DV to capture footage.
Problem: After taking my raw AVI footage into TMPGE to encode it to MPEG2 I must be doing something wrong. I get pixelating on the fast camera movements during the filming. I have tried different settings but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
Setup: Drag the AVI into TMPGE. Choose SVCD (NTSC) - not NTSC film. Drag the clip in. Choose interlace, bottom field first 1:1 VGA Aspect ratio. (I use no noise reduction.) Average bit rate can't be set higher than 2520 and go.
Question: Do you think it is in the capturing stage I am doing something wrong or is it in the conversion or is that just as good as it gets?
As I said earlier, I get some pixeling or blocking throughout the fast movements part of the movie. I thought at first I was using an inferior program such as pinnacle studio and the capturing was bad but I tried Adobe premiere and it did the same.
Any info would be appreciated...

You could try using the TMPGEnc Deinterlace filters. When ever I get picture problems I use the even filter. Hope this helps
