Creative Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus SABRE32 midi playback

Does anyone here know if this audio card supports midi hardware playback,i have an audigy rx 5 that plays midi files.Searched google but no midi playback mentioned.

Just got the card and installed it and no support for midi play back.

Page 44 of the manual mentions midi settings, so while it is not really the focus of these cards anymore, it is pretty simple & fundamental to that whole series/family of chipsets. Easy to include. It's probably just hidden, and you will need a good dedicated midi file player or sequencer to get good results.

I got a midi player installed that does the same job,CoolSoft_VirtualMIDISynth_2.13.7.

Wasn't clear that you were replacing it. Why replace it if it works?

Looking at that model, no it doesn't have a dedicated midi synth sound chip. But that's probably because the card is geared more towards high end gaming.
However, you don't really need a dedicated chip, all you need is a software Synthesizer that can play midi files. Computers have improved so much since the old SB models that a dedicated chip isn't necessary as long as your CPU is decent enough. There seems to be a bunch of soft syth options available for download, including a few that are listed as free. I would go for one with DL soundfont support.

I replaced the card cause i do high end gaming,the rx was sometimes getting problems with midi outputs just vanishing due to driver conflicts.
