  1. Hello to everyone.

Actually I'm using Linux and I would like to see the DRM protected contents offered by nowtv.it because I have a paid account with them. The browsers supported by nowtv.it are :
    1. Google Chrome version 102 or later (on MAC and Windows)
    2. Mozilla Firefox version 102 or later
    3. Safari version 14 or later (only on Mac, not on PC with Windows)
    4. Edge version 102 or later

Linux is not supported. I know this for sure.

I used the "User Agent Switcher and Manager" to appear as a Windows user because I was sure that they accept only these users with this user agent :

    User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/118.0
BUT this is neither accepted. What could I do to fool the website and use Linux ? Do you have some advice for me ?

Since you said NowTV is not available on Linux devices... Then how come just switching to another user-agent will work?

  4. I want to be clear on one point, before everything :

My use case does not infring any copyright law, since what I want to do is decrypt a video streaming that I have the right to watch, because I'm a paid subscriber. It is my right that's violated, because they are forcing me to use an operating system that I don't use. Someone could argue to use another streaming service. I can't do this, because I've already paid some money for the one that I'm trying to use and in that time I was not sure that Linux was unsupported, since on the webpage the use of Linux is not excluded clearly,as you can see by yourself :

    Supported browsers :

Google Chrome version 102 or later (on MAC and Windows)
Mozilla Firefox version 102 or later
Safari version 14 or later (only on Mac, not on PC with Windows)
    Edge version 102 or later
With said that,I tried different user agent strings, but they didn't work.

  5. Firefox for Linux based systems should have DRM capabilities: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-drm#w_supported-platforms

Doesn't it work for you? Can you play any other DRM-protected content in it?

  6. I don't have problems with my Linux installation. For example I can watch the protected contents on www.netflix.com ; the problem is that www.nowtv.it wants me to use only Windows with the supported browsers (chrome, firefox, edge). If I use Linux with the supported browsers,it will say "unsupported browser" ; lying, because the error should be "unsupported os" ; but I imagine that they can't say that clearly on the website. I used Windows with those browsers and it worked...

Have you tried emulating windows on a virtual machine?

  10. Nope. It's a wasting of resources. I don't want to start a virtual machine for that. And I wont and I can't run Windows. For many reasons.
I use Linux and FreeBSD only. I want that my choice is respected, since Linux and FreeBSD aren't exotic operating systems,it's wrong to force me to use a system that I don't like and that I can't install.

  11. Now I'm trying to run the supported browsers using wine on Linux. I'm out of luck. I found only one browser that is capable of open the www.nowtv.it website but then widevine crashes.
