Just got the movies "The Green Mile" and "Cast Away" on my PC in .VOB.
Put them through DVD2AVI; got the .AVI, but no sound. It says about at 50% of the way through the conversion that an error occurred while encoding sound or something like that. I'm using the "standard" conversion method on this program (DVD2AVI). I don't know what to do. Any help? Thanks!

select demux instead of decode & use external tools to decode/downmix/downsample the ac3 audio. azid & ssrc or besweet is popular

Perhaps the best place to start would be to delete then reinstall DVD2AVI and try it again. Maybe something got deleted or corrupted somewhere?
