  1. Hello,

I used "Audio to text" function in Subtitle Edit and the recognition of the words was perfect, but... I have a big timing problem in the column of "Start Time".

Each Start Time is brought forward.
    I'll explain:

for example, if the first 20 seconds of video have no dialogue, the first words spoken are not marked at the 20th second, but at time 0.

Start Time 0:00 and End time 0:23.

So, the End Time is right but the Start Time is wrong.

And so also in the rest of the video.

If the next dialogue starts at 0:40 and ends at 0:43, this time too I have: Start Time 0:24 instead of 0:40 and End Time right again, 0:43.
As you can see it doesn't start in the right moment (0:40) but soon after the previous End Time (that was 0:23).

Can you please tell me which option I need to change within Subtitle Edit to avoid running into this problem?

    Thanks very much in advance!

    Switch engine to Faster-Whisper.

  3. Thank you,
I tried Faster-Whisper but the recognition gives error: "No text found".

What do you recommend? Nvidia GPU , 8GB + ?
    What about AMD GPU?

You can use CPU with "--device=cpu" command.

8GB is enough for large model.
AMD doesn't have support for CUDA.

  6. The Start Time error was using a big model of 2.88 Gb.

The No Text error was using a little model Tiny of only 74 Mb (the only available in Fast-Whisper)

    How it worsened?
Did you see popup to download "cuBLAS and cuDNN"?

Try adding "--device=cpu" command to advanced field.
